The excitement for The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee is building with loads of special events planned and Queensgate Shopping Centre in Peterborough is getting ready to join the party with a a three-day, free, festival of fun.
On Tuesday May 31, a giant 6ft card will be put up in the centre for everyone to add a personal message of congratulations to Her Majesty. Queensgate will then send the card to The Queen as a gift from the people of Peterborough.
Then on Wednesday June 1, you can make a majestic memory for Her Majesty. There’ll be giant props and plenty of photo ops! Take the family along and make a happy memory in the centre with face painters to mark this special occasion plus there’ll be free crafts and letter writing to enjoy,
The final day ends with a ‘bang-quet’. On Thursday June 2, it’s time for tea and a dance! A giant teacup and bunting make for a great family photo opportunity while tea is poured to toast our favourite monarch. Grab a partner and learn the ‘two step’ as the party gets going in Queensgate.
“We’re all excited for celebrate an incredible rein of 70 years on the throne and we want to mark this event with a fun community event that’s suitable for all,” said Katie Chapman, Marketing and Commercialisation Manager at Queensgate.
The three-day event is free for all to attend and will be located in Central Square from 11am until 3pm.
