A special event’s being staged in Peterborough as part of International Women’s Day on the theme of inspiring change.
On Saturday March 8, International Women’s Day, Peterborough Rape Crisis Care Group will be hosting an event to raise awareness of their services. There’ll be live bands, dancers, self defence demonstrations, motivational speakers and more so come on girls – get yourselves down there and get inspired!
It’s being held on St John’s Square, behind St John’s Church in the city centre starting at 12 noon and runs through until 4pm. There’ll be inspirational women dancing, demonstrating Zumba, poets and motivational speakers.
Annually on International Women’s Day (IWD) events are held throughout the world to inspire women and celebrate their social, political and economic achievementss o it’s great to see Peterborough taking part.
Throughout the globe there’ll be a variety of rich and diverse local activities to connect women from all around the world ranging from political rallies, government activities, theatrical performances, fashion parades and more.
Peterborough Rape Crisis Care Group is passionate about empowering women and inspiring change for them in a positive manner.
XXX told ESP – “We seek to raise awareness of issues relating to women specifically associated with sexual violence. This event has been organised by Natasha Leahy a fundraiser and event organiser for the organisation. We are currently recruiting for more volunteers that would be interested in becoming a fundraiser, event organiser or be involved in seeking funding to enable our work to continue.”
