NEW MINI GOLF CENTRE FOR PETERBOROUGH

A new £2.5 million leisure attraction is set to make its regional debut when it opens in Queensgate Shopping Centre in Peterborough later this year.

Indoor mini-golf brand Puttstars, which is operated by the Hollywood Bowl Group, has selected the centre as its fifth location as it expands throughout the UK.

Puttstars will be located within Queensgate’s new leisure extension and the £2.5million, 20,000 sq ft venue will offer three unique, interactive nine-hole golf courses, designed for families and young adults. Puttstars Queensgate will also offer great food, drinks, and the latest arcade games.

This all forms part of Queensgate’s new leisure line-up which includes a 10-screen Empire cinema within the £60m extension, which is set to complete this year. It will add nearly 80,000 sq ft of new leisure and experience-led floorspace, creating an additional 200 jobs.

Mark Broadhead, Centre Director at Queensgate Shopping Centre, said: “We are delighted to confirm Puttstars will be joining the new extension and will bring an exciting new dimension of leisure to the centre. With Empire cinema already confirmed and further new experiences to come, the £60m extension will complement Queensgate’s enviable list of desirable brands and independent retailers to create a fantastic overall customer experience.”

Laurence Keen, Chief Financial Officer of Hollywood Bowl Group, added: “We are incredibly excited to be bringing the Puttstars brand to Peterborough, and joining the brand-new extension to Queensgate provides us with a bespoke space in a destination that has a huge customer base and great accessibility.

"The leisure market is developing fast, with people looking to socialise in new ways. As the new home of mini golf, Puttstars is perfectly placed to offer safe and entertaining experiences for everyone – families, friends and work colleagues alike.”

This news follows the announcement of Empire Cinemas as the anchor tenant of the new leisure extension, with the brand set to launch its 10-screen, 34,000 sq ft unit later this year.
