City based singer John Quinn is following up his appearance on the BBC talent show The Voice with a gig in Peterborough.

John and his band The Fleeting Minds have seen a surge in interest since he performed on The Voice and despite not getting selected by the judges he’s been inundated with support.

Judge Tom Jones said he “sang the hell out of it” when John performed Jake Bugg’s Lightning Bolt in the blind auditions watched by millions, but despite his cracking performance it wasn’t what the judges – Kylie, Ricky and Will.i.am – were looking for in the show’s format.

His appearance has served to raise the band’s profile and now local fans keen to show their support can catch The Fleeting Minds live at the Met Lounge on Bridge Street on Friday February 7.

John told ESP – “I want to simply get myself out there and have my music heard. If I can earn a comfortable living then that would be great. If fame and fortune came from it then that would be an added bonus, but for me, the important thing is the music.”

It follows the release this week of the band’s new single Dynamite and video which you can watch below.

Our Glorious Demonic Heist and another act to be announced will provide support at the hotly anticipated gig. Entry’s free befeore 8.30pm and £4 after.
