VIVACITY OFFERS HALF TERM FUN FOR THE KIDS

They’re the two words that strike fear into the hearts of parents… half term!

If you’re fretting about how you’re going to keep the kids entertained and keep your sanity, let Vivacity ease your worries.

They’ve organised plenty of family stuff from Monday February 18 – Saturday February 23. From sports and active adventure days at Vivacity sports venues to science experiments, crafts and trails across the Museum, Archives and Libraries, Vivacity has it sorted for you.

Vivacity’s Sports Holiday Club is perfect for working parents and guardians who need somewhere to drop their young ones off while they head to work.

Running from 8.30am – 5.30pm each day, from February 18 – 22 there are different themes ranging from Disney and Marvel to carnivals. Join in with Mardi Gras crafts and superhero quests as well as a wide range of sports and games.

Prices start from just £20 per day or £80 for a full week, with 10% discount when booking online.

For families looking to share some time together, Vivacity’s Shocking Science week at Peterborough Museum and Art Gallery is the perfect option.

What makes fidget spinners spin?  Why do we get rainbows? Get hands on and find out. Explore the stories of long-suffering scientists who made breakthroughs in Peterborough and discover frightful medicines of the past – (some of which were sure to make you feel worse).

Tickets are just £3 children, £4 adults and £12 families (2 adults, up to 3 children). Turn up and pay on the day or book a queue jump online to make sure you don’t miss out.

Short on time? There are also great ways to enjoy just an hour or two with the family at great value. Marvellous Medicine on Thursday February 21, 10am – 1.30pm is a drop in craft and learning morning at Peterborough Archives in Central Library.

This half term, learn about Peterborough Pharmacist, Sturton and Sons, where mixtures and potions were created to help cure all kinds of ailments – learn some recipes and make your own herbal remedy pouch. Tickets are £2 per child. Also, Vivacity Libraries celebrate the work of acclaimed children’s illustrator Nick Sharratt with Shark! Fishy Fun in the Library for ages 5+. Join in with a storytime, build a telescope and then go round the library hunting for sharks you might find.

For an hour of excellent theatre, the Key Theatre also plays host to former children’s laureate Michael Rosen’s We’re Going On A Bear Hunt! on Saturday February 23 at 1.30pm and 4.30pm & Sunday February 24 at 10.30am and 1.30pm.

All of this plus Vivacity’s regular programme of roller skating, inclusive sports and swimming lessons too means there are plenty of ways to keep the kids happy across February Half Term.
