Rations, the golden age of Hollywood and the invention of the microwave, there’s plenty to thank the flying Forties for – not least the opening of City College Peterborough.

This year marks a milestone for the college, which is midway through 12 months of special events.

The home of adult education and learning in Peterborough was established in 1944 – and in its 70th anniversary year is staging a special taster day at its Brook Street site, followed by a celebratory dance and buffet at Peterborough Town Hall.
