Peterborough is set to host one of the UK’s most distinctive community events as The Immortal Feel the Force Day returns to Peterborough Cathedral later in the year on Saturday September 5.
We went along last year when the event made a welcome return after taking a break, and it was an a amazing day out.
Feel the Force Day is a not-for-profit celebration of film, TV, sci-fi, fantasy and popular culture, with a strong focus on inclusion, accessibility and community spirit. Run by volunteers and supported by local partners, the event brings together fans, families and charities.

We’re looking forward to it already and we’re promised a lively mix of costumed characters, special guests, themed displays, interactive activities, traders, collectables, games and live entertainment throughout the day. Dressing up is encouraged and helps create a welcoming and immersive atmosphere for all ages.

A key part of Feel the Force Day is its inclusive ethos. The event has built a reputation for being friendly and accessible to people with disabilities and additional needs, working to ensure as many people as possible can take part comfortably. Quiet spaces, supportive volunteers and a relaxed approach help families attend with confidence.

Proceeds from the event help support charitable causes and community initiatives, with previous years raising significant funds for good causes while also giving local groups a platform to engage with the public.

Event organiser Simon Howard said: “Feel the Force Day has always been about bringing people together. It’s about joy, escapism and community, but also about making sure no one feels left out. Hosting the event in such an iconic venue makes it even more special, and we’re looking forward to welcoming thousands of visitors for a great day.”

Peterborough Cathedral provides a striking and historic backdrop, offering a unique setting that adds to the sense of occasion while remaining at the heart of the local community.
It’ll run from 11am - 6pm with all ages welcome. Further details on guests, activities and ticketing will be announced closer to the event date so keep an eye on their socials.
