It’s time to grab some fresh air on a special sponsored walk for charity so get the family together and join in!
Face of ESP Simona Bajorinaite is getting right behind the charity walk Pop Around Peterborough in aid of Arthritis Research UK, supported by ESP Magazine.
This charity event is now in its second year after a successful launch in 2012. It’s now moved location to The Boathouse pub at Thorpe Meadows where walkers will set off on a 5 mile walk, each with a balloon. The idea is that when you cross the finishing line you’ll pop your balloon and find out if you’ve won a fantastic prize.
Simona says – “I hope we can encourage even more walkers to take part this year and make it an even bigger success! It’s a fun idea and is a great way to get some fresh air, raise money and maybe even win yourself something like a family day out, shopping vouchers or a meal out.”
So come on folks, it should be a doddle and you can even walk the dog while you’re doing it! We’ll be there to cheer you on and we want you, your friends and family to take part so it’s time to enter now.
Pop Around Peterborough starts and finishes at The Boat House pub on Sunday May 19 with family entertainment from 10am and the walk starting at 10.30am.
Michael Clarke, who is the event organiser and Regional Fundraising Manager for Arthritis Research UK told ESP – “Last year’s walk was such a fabulous success, everyone there I’m sure would agree it was such a great day. There are over 10 million people in the UK right now suffering from Arthritis, so nearly everyone will know someone close to them affected. Everyone can help make a change to people’s lives by signing up to this walk.”
Entry for Pop Around Peterborough is just £5 per person which includes a fantastic goodie-bag and the chance of winning many prizes worth hundreds of pounds. Enter in advance or alternatively, if things end up a little last minute just email numbers to m.clarke@arthritisresearchuk.org and you can pay on the day.

Frequently asked questions…
Q) Will I be OK taking along a Pushchair?
A) Yes. Many walkers had prams last year. The walk will obviously become more challenging but the floor will be smooth enough.
Q) Can I bring my dog?
A) Yes. Again we had many dogs being taken for a walk during the event last year; however, please do not allow your pet to go into the Boathouse pub.
Q) What should I wear?
A) Please wear what makes you feel most comfortable. We’re hoping for sunshine and shorts but who knows, you may need an umbrella. Why not wear orange to match the charities colour scheme?
Q) Should I bring any money to the event?
A) You do not need to. Please be aware though, that you may wish to bring funds with you for a Tombola Stall and the special food offers available exclusively to all Pop around Peterborough walkers (found in your goodie-bags).
Q) Can someone in a wheel-chair attend the event?
A) People in wheelchairs may struggle with certain areas of the route.
Q) Can my friends and family pay on the day?
A) Yes, the more the merrier. We will need their details on the day however for health and safety reasons.
