NEW STAMFORD MUSIC FESTIVAL IS ON ITS WAY

The countdown is on for the Stamford Music Festival on the Town Meadows.

The three-day event, which runs from July 15 – 17, has a main stage of live music with performers include headliners Howard Rose Band, Little Mammoths and Tin Pigeons, as well as local favourites The Gangsters and One Eyed Cats.

Each day there’ll be plenty to do including children’s entertainment, a craft market, and stalls offering a variety of food and drink including craft beer and street food.

The event is ticketed with advance tickets for the full weekend costing £10. Individual day tickets are also available costing £4.50 for Friday, £7 for Saturday and £4.50 for Sunday.

Friday runs from 5pm to 9.30pm with Sacred Nations, Sara Hawke, Bianca and the Top Cats and the Howard Rose Band.

Saturday is an all day affair, from 11am to 9.30pm, with acts Hazardville, Frumenty, Pembroke Tenneson, The Gangsters, One Eyed Cats and Little Mammoths (raucous rock ‘n’ roll featuring a former member of Noah and the Whale).

Rounding off the weekend, on Sunday from 11am to 8pm, will be Sophie Hurst, Henrietta Smith, Steve Bean (pictured left), Opera Delights, Michael Keithson, Mark Hale Jazz Quartet and Stamford favourites the Tin Pigeons.

Market Square Group Director Paul Kennedy said: “We want to bring music back to the Stamford Meadows and the Stamford Music Festival will showcase a stage of live music for people to enjoy.

“Our line up caters for a range of musical tastes, from country to classical, from rock to rhythm and blues and a lot more in between.

“People who buy a weekend ticket in advance for £10 can come and go as they please over the three days. We will have a range of traders selling delicious food and drink so you can stay refreshed as you relax with family and friends and enjoy the music.”

All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Children under 12 get in free.

Tickets will also be available at the entry gate each day.
