NEW M&S FOOD HALL NOW OPEN @ SERPENTINE GREEN

Peterborough residents gathered at Serpentine Green Shopping Centre today (Wednesday, 31 January) as Marks & Spencer opened its brand new Foodhall.

Store Manager, Sami Musallam, celebrated the opening with his 59 new M&S colleagues –many recruited from the local area – by cutting the ribbon at 10am and welcoming the first customers into store.

Sami has worked for M&S for over a decade and, commenting on today’s opening, he said: “I am extremely proud of the work my team has put in to prepare the store for its opening this morning – it looks fantastic and seeing the store filled with customers is really rewarding. We’re thrilled with the response we’ve received so far today and look forward to getting to know the local community over the coming months and helping to make every moment special for them whilst they shop with us.”

The 10,000 sq. ft. store is packed with thousands of inspiring M&S food and drink products – including a new range of dishes from M&S’s Eat Well health range, which features a show-stopping collection of Asian-inspired vegetarian and vegan dishes. The store also features a bakery offering a wide variety of breads and pastries, as well as a 52-seat M&S Café, providing the perfect spot for a morning coffee or catch up with friends.

With just two weeks to go until Valentine’s Day, the store also has an array of seasonal bouquets and sweet treats on offer, including Pink Himalayan Salted Caramels, Prosecco & Rosé Love Heart Jellies, a Valentine’s Spring bouquet, Fairtrade Roses and a Secret Admirer’s Gift Box.

Mother and daughter, Sheila and Melissa Dexter, travelled from Oundle to be some of the first customers through the doors this morning. They said: “The community has been long awaiting the new Foodhall and the shopping centre now feels complete. The store is lovely and has a great layout, with the added bonus of a Café. This is our closest M&S so we will certainly be frequent visitors!”

Sami continued: “Our new store is in a fantastic location and we’ll be embracing the bustling atmosphere of Serpentine Green Shopping Centre, as well as working with our colleagues across Peterborough’s two existing stores to bring locals the very best of M&S.”

The new Foodhall also offers M&S’s Click & Collect service, giving customers the option to have their Clothing & Home orders delivered to the store next day, completely free of charge.

The new M&S Foodhall will be open Monday – Saturday from 8am to 8pm, and 11am to 5pm on Sundays.
