NEW HAMPTON LIBRARY & LEISURE CENTRE TO OPEN!

Vivacity Culture and Leisure opens the city’s latest new leisure facility on Saturday September 28 at 10am.

The centre on Clayburn Road is part of an ambitious Vivacity and Peterborough City Council development which includes the launch of Hampton Primary School, Hampton Leisure Centre and the new Hampton Library.

It’ll be the fifth leisure centre in the Vivacity sports network, which also includes the Regional Fitness & Swimming Centre, Bushfield and Werrington Leisure Centres and Jack Hunt Swimming Pool & Gym, as well as the Peterborough Lido in summer.

The centre will offer great indoor and outdoor facilities that include a multi-purpose sports hall, clubrooms, netball and tennis courts, grass football pitches and a cricket wicket. The brand new state-of-the-art gym has been designed with a high ceiling to offer a cool, airy and sunlit workout and great views across Hampton Vale. Plus there’s a spacious, fully-mirrored fitness studio for classes and studio cycling.

The modern and bright Hampton Library replaces the current facility at Serpentine Green and offers a much larger and welcoming space for customers. The library, which is one of 10 Vivacity libraries across the city, will offer access to over 11,000 books, e-books, CDs and DVDs, as well as housing six public-access computers, a wide range of free online resources and Wi-Fi access.

Hampton Library and Leisure Centre will be officially opened by The Mayor of Peterborough, Councillor June Stokes at 10am on September 28 and the general public are invited to attend.

Vivacity will be holding a fun-packed day of activities for all the family on opening day with special guest Peppa Pig. Activities on offer include storytimes, face-painting and craft sessions as well as a sports open-day for all the family, with free fitness classes and demos, a free gym trial and lots of fun activities for the kids.
