LIVE ENTERTAINMENT NIGHTS LAUNCHED @ OAKHAM PUB

Mill Street Pub & Kitchen in Oakham has launched live music and comedy nights.

If you fancy venturing just a little further afield these new events are worth a trip to over to Oakham on a Friday night.

Live music starts at 9pm on Fridays, with artists appearing in the next month including band Munich on Friday January 27 and Leicester based solo acoustic artist Calder McLaughlin on Friday February 10.

Entry to the live music nights is free.

Comedy nights are also being introduced, which will be held on the first Friday of every month, starting on February 3.

Comedian Jon Pearson is the first act who’ll be performing. He has two successful Edinburgh Fringe Festival runs under his belt and sell-out show ‘Tall Order’ at Melton Theatre, which was part of Dave’s Leicester Comedy Festival.

Jon is described on EdFringeReview.com as “Brilliant and witty gags with a natural ability for working an audience.”

MC for the night, which starts at 7.30pm, is Mark Smith.

Mark’s TV appearances include Russell Howard’s Good News (BBC3) Nick Helm’s Heavy Entertainment (BBC3) and Gonzo (MTV2) and People are Awesome (YouTube channel).

Entry to the comedy nights is £5. To book tickets call 01572 729600 or for more information visit www.millstreetoakham.com

Mill Street Pub & Kitchen manager Chris Watson says: “We are really excited to now be offering live entertainment at The Cavern, which has a great atmosphere. We have a fantastic line-up of both music and comedy acts on offer over the next few weeks to give people a top night out.”
