Memories of loved ones will shine bright at Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice’s Lights of Love carol service this weekend.
Lights of Love will feature traditional Christmas carols, music, and readings from the hospice’s volunteers, staff and people who have benefited from its compassionate care. There will also be performances from local choirs and festive refreshments and stalls.
It’s being held in the iconic surroundings of Peterborough Cathedral from 5.30pm on Sunday December 15, and will give family and friends the time to remember and celebrate the lives of loved ones and shine bright in their memory.
Staff and volunteers at Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice are inviting everyone to attend this free event, whether you’ve been supported by the hospice or not.
During the service, guests will be able to write a message to those they wish to remember on a dedication star, which will be displayed on Christmas trees in the Cathedral during the event. You can also light a candle in memory too.

“By coming together at Lights of Love you will be helping us be there when it matters, providing more care in the local community, while letting the memory of loved ones shine bright this Christmas. Friends and family are very welcome to join us too.”

If you’re going along please arrive from 5.30pm, ready for the service to start at 6pm but no earlier due to Evensong at the Cathedral.
Lights of Love is free to attend and is open to all, with donations helping Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice continue providing palliative care for local families.
