LAST CHANCE TO ENTER THE DRAGON!

The hugely popular Peterborough Dragon Boat Festival takes place at Peterborough Rowing Club, Thorpe Meadows on Saturday June 14 and there’s still time to get a team together and be part of it!

Exciting, colourful and great fun, no previous experience is required to enter a team of up to 11 people into the event, just plenty of team spirit and enthusiasm! The dragon boats, qualified helms and all racing equipment are provided and each crew is guaranteed a minimum of three races. The Festival promises a fantastic day for competitors and spectators alike with funfair activities, inflatables, plenty of food and drink for all the family and a spectacular flypast by a Lancaster Bomber.

The top fundraisers for Festival charity, East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices, will win the charity trophy and two fabulous prizes: araceview suite for up to 40 guests at Peterborough Greyhound Stadium with delicious finger buffet and sponsored race plus a prize meal at Nando’s Peterborough!

Carol Lester of event organisers, Gable Events, commented, “We’re looking forward to another superb day of racing and entertainment and there’s still time to join in the fun!

“The beauty of Dragon Boat Racing is that it’s not reliant on brute strength. The key to success is team work, timing and the ability to listen to your helm’s instructions, failure to do so could result in an early bath! There’s nothing more amusing than to see a crew of super-confident burley builders come unstuck against a mixed crew of IT consultants!

“Organisation and team work will be triumphant every time. So even if you don’t have the arms of Thor or the athletic prowess of Victoria Pendleton, fear not as anyone can succeed in Dragon Boat Racing, which is why this event is so appealing to companies looking for a fun way to motivate staff and strengthen team spirit.”

To make sure your company, club or group of friends is on the start line on Saturday June 14 please call organisers Gable Events on 01780 470718 or visit the Festival website at www.dragonboatfestivals.co.uk/peterborough
