Peterborough’s well known bar on a boat, Charters, is celebrating 25 years since the barge arrived on the Nene and created one of the city’s best loved venues.
Always good for a party the team have plenty lined up from September 15 – 18 including the live music and ales they’re famous for and a BBQ all weekend. They’ll even be selling limited quantities of JHB at 1991 prices so get in early.
The anniversary fun kicks off on Thursday with a pub quiz on all things 1991. Then it’s live music on Friday September 16 with Miscellaneous at 10.30pm and on Saturday it’s Lexie Green & The Indigo Blue at 10.30pm.
You can’t celebrate without a cake so get ready to blow the candles out on Sunday afternoon. Then who better to end the party than popular local guys the fabulous One Eyed Cats, who are also celebrating their own anniversary on the scene! We’re sure they’ll rock out and close the weekend in style out in the beer garden at 3pm on the Sunday.
General Manager Chris Ward told ESP – “We’re inviting past and present customers and staff to join the celebrations and would welcome any old photos and stories about the bar, so please get in touch.
“Charters is a unique landmark venue in Peterborough as famous for the quirkiness of the venue as it is for excellent beer, a dedicated team and of course a great beer garden.
“We have lots of exciting plans for the future of the bar including expanding our range of craft beers and introducing premium gins and vodkas as well as much more to come.”
It’ll be a great vibe at the bar that’s become of Peterborough’s landscape so don’t miss the party!
