It’s time to don your tutu, strap on your fairy wings and grab your wand to be part of a world record breaking event at Peterborough cathedral this Sunday.

As part of the Peterborough Celebrates campaign making 900 years of the cathedral, Stamford based charity Anna’s Hope has set a challenge to bring together 900 ‘fairies’ in the cathedral grounds on Sunday June 10.

If they manage it they hope to break the Guinness World Record for the Largest Gathering of People Dressed as Fairies in One Place.

The attempt is part of the Peterborough 900 Celebrations and will take place in the grounds in front of Peterborough Cathedral.

To break the world record the charity need at least 900 fairies so please tell your family and friends and to qualify as a fairy, you must wear a TUTU and WINGS and carry a WAND and fairies are asked to arrive by 12.30.

Anna’s Hope founder, Carole Hughes said – “The charity was inspired by my daughter Anna, who died from a brain tumour aged only 3. She loved dressing up as a fairy.

“Anna’s Hope now helps over 120 children with a brain tumour each year and by breaking the world record it will not only be fun and a great achievement it will also help raise awareness of children with brain tumours.”

In addition to the world record attempt, which will be hosted by Rutland Radio’s Rob Persani, an afternoon of entertainment and fun is planned with singers, dancers, stilt walkers, face painters and a circus workshop.

Entrance is free but you must register in advance on http://bit.ly/fairyworldrecord
