Enjoy the sun in the grounds of beautiful Thorpe Hall this weekend with the return of their popular garden fete and a fabulous outdoor classical concert in the evening.
The garden fete is packed with fun and entertainment this Sunday August 11 to help raise money for their £6million appeal for a new hospice and returns after a break of a few years, followed by a fundraising evening concert as part of Peterborough Arts Fest.
The garden fete is back, bigger and better with a fashion show featuring clothes from the Vintage & Retro store, dancing displays by Everybody Salsa and the Jelly Belly Dancers, the Exotic Animal Encounter, a beer tent, hog roast, cake stall and lots more!
You can meet two Posh players on the day – Jack Payne and Joe Newell – pictured above viewing the site of the new purpose built hospice the appeal is raising money for.
There will also be Tae Kwondo displays, plenty of stalls an art display and singer Ian Rose to keep you entertained.
The fete is to be held in the hospice’s grounds from 10am – 4pm with a small entry fee and all proceeds going to the new hospice appeal.
Then in the evening the grounds will come to life at 7.30pm with the sounds of popular classics from the Britten Sinfonia in a special outdoor concert. Their performance is part of the Peterborough Arts Fest events and tickets are £10, available in advance or on the gate, with half the proceeds going to the appeal.
Take along a picnic and enjoy some excellent music by one of the world’s most celebrated ensembles!
