Toot! Toot! For lovers of steam and traction engines, Sacrewell is the place to be on the weekend of July 19 and 20 as the 18th annual miniature steam rally rolls into the farm.
Around forty working exhibits including traction engines, steam lorries and rail locomotives will be on show and at the event organised by the Peterborough Society of Model Engineers and several of these will be offering visitors the chance to hop aboard and take a ride.
There will be the impressive spectacle of a grand parade of all the engines in steam around Sacrewell at around 2pm on each day of the event.
Most of the engines have been built by their owners, a labour of love taking between two and five years to complete.
In addition to the steam engine display, Peterborough Model Boat Club will be showing some of their boats in the barn and putting them into action with demonstrations held on the pond.
Other dates to look out for are the pet and volunteer day on August 10 and a pirate themed teddy bears adventure day on August 24.
The farm’s open every day from 9.30am – 5pm. For more info visit www.sacrewell.org.uk or call 01780 782254.
