FREE LUNCHTIME RUNNING SESSIONS NOW ON OFFER

We all make the excuses about not having time when it comes to getting fitter but hopefully a new series of lunchtime running sessions which have just started in Peterborough could help.

Running and exercise can be part of living a healthier lifestyle and there’s plenty of advice on the Healthy Peterborough website.

This series of free lunchtime running sessions have just begun and will be held all the way through to July giving you the opportunity to slip on your trainers and get active during your lunch break.

The runs leave the Embankment Athletics Track in Bishop’s Road every Wednesday from now until July 4 and are open to all abilities so you don’t need to be Mo Farah!

The sessions take place from 12noon to 1pm and there’s a fully qualified England Athletics Endurance Coach on hand.

Annette Joyce, Peterborough City Council’s service director for environment and economy, said: “The hour long sessions are suitable for everyone, even if you’ve never thought about taking up running before. The hour can be based on the athletics track with the option to run out further into the city centre if you want to stretch your legs a little more.”

There is no need to book in advance, just simply turn up with your trainers and running clothes.

You don’t need to worry about getting sweaty and then going back to work as there are changing facilities and showers there – to find out more, email info@run4fun.co.uk.

Of course a great incentive to start running is for an event such as Race for Life or the Perkins Great Eastern Run and Anna’s Hope 5k Fun Run. This year’s event takes place on Sunday October 14 and entries are now open on www.perkinsgreateasternrun.co.uk.
