EX-PRODIGY STAR LEEROY THORNHILL TO PERFORM DJ SET AT CHARTERS

Popular city live music venue Charters has joined forces with local DJs and promoters Eclectic Ballroom to bring one of the most renowned DJs and former member of dance act The Prodigy to Peterborough on Saturday February 29.

Leeroy is a British electronic music artist and formerly a dancer and occasional live keyboardist with the British rave act The Prodigy. After leaving The Prodigy Leeroy has gone on to make a name for himself as a renowned DJ.

Leeroy picked up his musical style whilst touring with The Prodigy in the mid 90s and continues to produce music today with solo releases and remixes for various artists and DJs such as Darren Emerson and Maxim (Prodigy).

Today he resides in Germany and is being flown in especially for this event. It’s all happening at the venue on the river on Saturday February 29 and is expected to be a complete sell-out with the ever-loyal Prodigy fans eager to attend. The event’s being brought to the city by Warren Allett, General Manager of Charters Bar, Zed Malik and Jim Norton aka Eclectic Ballroom.

General Manager of Charters Warren Allett said – “I am excited about working together with Eclectic Ballroom and hope that this will be the first of many high profile acts that we can bring to Charters and to Peterborough, together further enhancing our recent recognition in the Guardian as one of the top 10 live music pubs in the UK.”

Leeroy will be supported on the night by Nick Slater of Shades of Rhythm, Nick was part of the Peterborough based trio who made a name for themselves back in 1989 when they produced multiple tracks for their self-penned album Frequency, although Sound of Eden is perhaps the track they’re most associated with.
