Pupils will elevate their talent to new heights in annual show…

The cream of  The Voyager Academy’s dancing talent will be showcased during the annual ‘Elevations’ performance.

The show is the focal point of the Academy’s rich and varied dance curriculum and will display the creative work that has been carried out in classes and courses throughout the school year.

Elevations will take place in The Voyager Academy’s theatre on Thursday June 12 from 7pm.

This show will be the 7th Elevations show produced by Mary Clynch, Head of Dance at The Voyager Academy.

Mary Clynch said: “The show highlights the real talent in dance and performance art here at the Academy. This year the work is being performed by pupils from BTEC and GCSE courses, children from the LowerSchool classes, and dance groups from the Allotrope Dance Company.

“I’m certain the show will be highly entertaining and enjoyed by all.”

Earlier this year, talented street dancers from The Voyager Academy qualified for the 2014 World and European Street Dance Championships. The dancers were supported by the Allotrope Dance Company, whose director, Will Webster, is a dance teacher at the Academy.

Tickets cost £3 and are available in advance from The Voyager Academy reception. A limited amount will be available to buy on the door and everyone’s welcome.
