It’ll soon be time to celebrate and have a royally good time in Peterborough as the Coronation takes place at the beginning of May.
His Majesty King Charles III will be crowned alongside the Queen Consort at Westminster Abbey on Saturday May 6 at a ceremony conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury.
Various events are being held throughout the city over the bank holiday weekend so if you want to mark this historic event we will keep you informed.
The Burghley pub on Burghley Road in the city centre is just one of many that are screening the Coronation and will also be celebrating with live music over the bank holiday weekend with Johnny Quinn, The Tourettes and Salmon Dave – see our Gig Guide section.
Many other local venues will be getting involved and it’s hoped there’ll be a few street parties too, but Peterborough City Council in partnership with Peterborough Cathedral, Peterborough Museum and St John’s Church have several things planned.
