A touch of May madness has taken over at Peterborough Cathedral, with a 20% reduction on tour prices offered through the month of May – including the two Bank Holiday weekends.
The spectacular Cathedral tower tours are gathering a reputation as one of the most memorable and exhilarating excursions in the city. Those who brave the winding stairs and narrow entrances are rewarded with close-up views of the stained glass and ceilings, as well as a look at the bell ringing chamber and the 13th century wooden windlass used by the medieval masons. The tour emerges into breath-taking views from the top of the tower.

If heights are really not your thing, stay firmly on the ground with a tour of the Cathedral interior, learning about the history of this extraordinary place and the stories of notable people like Katharine of Aragon, Mary Queen of Scots and Old Scarlett.
Both tower tours (for ages 10+ only) and ground tours take roughly 1 hour and 15 minutes and are accompanied by trained Cathedral guides. Places are limited for the tower tours so advanced booking is advised.
Anyone wishing to simply take a look around the Cathedral unguided is of course welcome and admission is free. Donations are invited and photographers are asked to purchase a £3 permit.
