Dog lovers in Peterborough and surrounding areas are being urged to come together for Guide Dogs on October 10 at Ferry Meadows…
Did you know that dog walkers spend more than 382 hours walking their pets every year? Dogs Unite is a series of sponsored dog walks taking place around the country to help Guide Dogs raise money to create more life-changing guide dog partnerships.
The Dogs Unite event in Ferry Meadows in Peterborough promises fantastic fun for all the family and their pet, who can dress up in a special hero cape! Guide Dogs is calling on dog owners in Peterborough to make their pet pooch a hero for the day by taking part in Dogs Unite! As a huge thank you for their support, each pooch will also receive a certificate and dog tag to wear proudly on their collar on completing their walk.
The event will take place on Saturday 10th October 2015
Registration is from 10.30am and the walks will start at 11am
Circular walks of 1.5, 2.5 or 3.5 miles are available, starting from the café area near Ham Lane entrance.
Organiser and Community Fundraiser for Guide Dogs in the Peterborough Mobility Team, Mandy Loveder said: “We want to get as many dogs and their owners as possible to join in with our sponsored Dogs Unite walk so that we can keep making a difference to those who are in need of our services. We challenge you to raise £35 in sponsorship – enough to support a guide dog partnership for a whole week!”
This walk is being proudly supported by Amey. Amey delivers a range of services in Peterborough and the surrounding areas on behalf of Peterborough City Council including waste collections, street care, ground maintenance and transport.
