At last – it’s time for the weird and the wonderful as three days of free fabulous arts events see the city transformed during the Peterborough Arts Festival.
On Friday September 4 and Saturday September 5 Magnetic Events turn historical buildings (such as the Guildhall) into temporary artworks each evening with amazing projections illuminating buildings to create ‘Peterborough: Enchanted City’. Catch these amazing visuals and literally see your city in a whole new light from around 7.30pm.

Over the weekend the city centre will be alive with various street entertainers and performances from 10am onwards.
No Fit State Circus, the UK’s leading contemporary circus company, bring their extraordinary production Open House, turning Cathedral Square into a chaotic Circus Village in which everyone can take part!
Over by the Town Hall you’ll be able to stick your head into a err… giant pig! Yep, you’ll have to see it to believe it as the Peterborough Arts Festival has plenty of surprises in store for the whole family’s amusement.
There’ll be spontaneous performances at Hunt and Darton’s award winning Pop-up Café – a place to have fun and spot some quirky goings-on whilst enjoying great quality food served with a twist!
So make sure you head into the city centre to catch some amazing acts throughout the festival weekend. It all launches on Friday September 4 in the evening followed by free family entertainment throughout the weekend.
