AND THE WINNER IS… CHAMPION ALE OF PETERBOROUGH BEER FESTIVAL

ESP’s Mikey Clarke joined dozens of other ‘expert judges’ at the Peterborough Beer Festival which is underway on the Embankment and we can now reveal the winning brews…

The Champion Ale of this year’s festival is – Easy American Brown 4.4% brewed by Abstract Jungle. Second was Rat in Black and third place went to Nelson Tree.

The judges spent hours sampling and deliberating – we’re sure it was hard work – but now you know the ales to look out for you when you visit… but be quick!

The Peterborough Beer Festival is now on every day until Saturday August 24.

The 42nd Peterborough Beer Festival organised by the local branch of CAMRA (the Campaign for Real Ale) got off to a great start on Tuesday August 20 with the Trade Session followed by a big crowd of eager beer lovers heading down in the early evening.

The festival is one of our favourite events and features over 350 real ales but also a huge range of cider and perry, gin and wine bars and a world beer bar with live music every day.

It’s family friendly and even the pet dog is welcome (on a lead) with plenty of food stalls, fair rides and games to keep everyone amused in between trips to the bar!

Look out for our ESP Paparazzi photographer who’ll be there to capture you all in the act of having a great time.

There’s live music every day – see the full list below. Cheers!
