While we all hope football's coming home you may want to watch it eslewhere out with your mates rather than on the sofa so here are a few places you can catch the World Cup action...

Tipsy Cow, Cowgate

This new venue on Cowgate has three great quality screens for a good view anywhere inside the bar, but there’s a snug area with a sofa if you get there early to bag it! They serve a great range of drinks including the new Road Legal 0% beer if you’re the designated driver.


The Zone @ Willow Café, Central Park

The Zone @ The Willow Cafe in Central Park is one of the city’s newest and most exciting World Cup Fan Zones launching from June 17. Designed as a safe, inclusive and family-friendly space, the fan zone will feature giant live match screenings on a huge LED screen, live entertainment from local DJs Matt Andrews and Eddie Nash, street food vendors and a welcoming, community-focused atmosphere where football fans of all ages can come together and enjoy the tournament in the heart of Peterborough. The Brewery Tap, Westgate

The perfect place to watch the World Cup whether in the bar or dining in the restaurant, they have multiple TVs across the venue to watch all the action. There’s also the option to hire the private function room with your own TV and bar to watch the football.


Charters, Town Bridge

With the largest beer garden in Peterborough, Charters will have the big screen on at the outdoor stage. You won't want to miss out on the atmosphere! There’s the option to hire the outdoor Top Deck for a private area for your group with a premium viewing spot of the big screen. 


The Shed, Fletton Quays

The Shed at Fletton Quays will be showing the World Cup, but you’ll need to book a free ticket and they’re aiming for a friendly family vibe. Full details are on their Facebook page and new website www.theshed.pub


Tap & Tandoor, Cumbergate, Queensgate Shopping Centre

This fabulous Indian gastro pub is always a great venue for watching all the sporting action and will be the perfect place to head to catch the World Cup matches. With four screens you won’t miss a thing and you can enjoy a craft beer and delicious food. The perfect venue for you and your mates to really enjoy the action.


The Ostrich Inn, North Street

Throughout their regular opening hours they’ll be showing all games on multi screens, including outside in the courtyard, with other matches being shown in accordance with licensing hours, alongside the progression through the tournament of England and Scotland.


Many other local pubs and venues will be showing the matches including: The Crown, The Boulevard Club, The Blue Bell Inn (Dogsthorpe), The Burghley, The Woolpack and The Royal British Legion Club in Yaxley to name a few.
