WINTER LIGHTS AT ANGLESEY ABBEY

Anglesey Abbey’s biggest annual fundraiser, Winter Lights, is back for another year with Nature by Night, Nature by Light. Winter now brings some wonderful opportunities to enjoy nearby National Trust properties at night with spectacular illuminations and festive events. Anglesey Abbey, just less than an hour from Peterborough, has a really magical Winter Lights experience planned, celebrating the natural world.

An alternative to traditional Christmas experiences, Nature by Night, Nature by Light is a beautiful, sensory after-dark journey that brings the gardens of Anglesey Abbey to life in all their wonder.

It runs from Friday December 9 - Wednesday December 21 and involves a variety of artists and performers including a partnership with two of our favourites - local author Robert MacFarlane, and wonderfully talented illustrator Jackie Morris.

You may be familiar with these two artists for the beautiful books The Lost Words and The Lost Spells and poems, music and illustrations from these will thread throughout the experience.

Visitors to Winter Lights 2022 will see magical projections of Jackie’s nature illustrations created by the award-winning projectionist team Ross Ashton and Karen Monid, as well as new versions of songs and poems from the books throughout the route.

It’s a fantastic way to continue to enjoy this beautiful property throughout the winter and nothing’s better than a warming hot chocolate or delicious snack from the independent street food vendors in the Orchard area after your walk.

Tickets are now on sale priced £18.50 for adults, £16.50 for a young person (18-25) and £14.50 for children (5-17).

As well as the Winter Lights experience at Anglesey Abbey you can also explore the richly decorated ground floor rooms in the House throughout December and January.

During your visit you can also enjoy the sensory winter garden, indulge in a bit of festive shopping and the children can enjoy a wintry adventure in the woodland play area.
