Westlife frontman Shane Filan has announced he’s coming to Peterborough as part of his second UK tour for 2016.
Due to phenomenal demand, Westlife frontman Shane Filan has announced the second leg of his major indoor UK tour for October 2016, including The Cresset in Peterborough on Tuesday October 18. In the wake of the huge success of both his ‘Right Here Tour’ in early 2016 and the ‘Right Here’ album the Irish pop sensation will be giving fans the opportunity to see him perform Westlife favourites as well as his own recent tracks.
The autumn tour is being promoted and produced by LHG Live by arrangement with Solo and will see Shane Filan perform in a variety of entertainment venues and theatres all over the UK, including Peterborough The Cresset, giving fans the opportunity to see him doing what he loves best; entertaining the crowd and singing from the heart.
Shane said, “ ‘The Right Here Tour’ earlier in the year was fantastic and I was really proud of how this transcended over so many different venues and places that I hadn’t performed in before. It was incredible to see the reaction from fans, to have them there with me enjoying the songs and joining in. The tour was such as great experience and we have had so many requests for more dates that we thought we might as well give the fans what they want, and go back out on the road in October. I am really excited about this new phase in the tour and looking forward to seeing everyone at The Cresset in Peterborough – it’s going to be a great night!”
The release of the ‘Right Here’ album has cemented Shane’s position as one of the UK’s most popular male solo artists, following his amazing success as frontman with Westlife – one of the world’s most successful bands of the last few decades – and the new tour dates promise to show just why Shane is so well loved in his own right.
The album ‘Right Here’ was mainly recorded in London and Denmark, with Shane working on the music with Cutfather (The Saturdays, JLS), Jez Ashurst (Will Young, Gabrielle Aplin), Jon Maguire (Union J) and Tre Jean-Marie (MNEK, Jason Derulo). It was released last September and reached Number 1 on the Irish Album Charts and the UK Top 20 in its first week.
The earlier ‘Right Here Tour’ dates took place in March of this year and visited 19 locations across the whole of the UK and Ireland.
Westlife had fourteen chart topping singles and forty-four million sales. Their career, Shane says, “fulfilled all of our dreams 1,000 times over.” It’s been a remarkable journey for a singer songwriter who grew up inspired by an admiration of Backstreet Boys and Michael Jackson.
