Local actor Warwick Davis is back on his travels…
It’s great to see Peterborough’s Warwick Davis and family return to ITV on Friday April 17 at 8pm in a second series of Warwick’s Weekend Escapes – we loved the first one and Warwick’s TV profile is certainly on a roll.
Expect more fun this time as they travel around the UK in their trusty camper van: first stop the Midlands. Warwick’s quest is to uncover the best of Great Britain – as well as prove to his family that there’s no need to hop on a plane to have the holiday of a lifetime – it’s right here on your doorstep! But as a doting dad, the pressure’s on to beat last year’s Staycation.

Warwick’s determined to find out whether Central England can give St Tropez a run for its money. First stop is the beautiful Peak District where Warwick gets stranded 40 feet up a pole during a stint with Derbyshire Mountain Rescue. Then his family surprise him with a trip to Heanor’s Vacuum Cleaner Museum – Warwick’s in Hoover Heaven! The Davis clan then step back in time to visit the Black Country Living Museum in full Victorian garb… and end up enlisting to fight in World War One.
The second show will see Warwick and his family head to picturesque South Wales. The family start the trip in the UK’s smallest city – St David’s – where they hang out with a group of Viking re-enactors and menace the local population on a raid. Then it’s a quick change into camouflage gear as Warwick morphs into Bear Grylls, teaching the family how to survive wild in the woods. Finally, the Davis clan join in with the World Alternative Games before ending up in stunning Tenby, singing along with a male voice choir.
Catch the new six-part series from Friday April 17 on ITV at 8pm.
