TV SERIES FINALE REVIEW: THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT (12A) ESP RATING: 4.5/5

After a slow-burning opening to Boba Fett’s (Temuera Morrison) reign as Jabba the Hutt’s long-term successor – with Ming Na-Wen’s mercenary Fennec Shand by his side – the seven-part series had a rousing finale.

That was in no small part down to Din Djarin’s entrance in Chapter Five, that turned The Book of Boba Fett more into The Mandalorian series 2.5 – and from there it really took flight.

Which was epitomised by two very different final two chapters, that saw the return of Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka Tano, and more impressively, a magnificently-rendered post-Return of the Jedi Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) as he trains ‘Baby Yoda’ Grogu.

Throw in alien-sharpshooter Cad Bane (Corey Burton) facing off with Timothy Olyphant’s grizzled sheriff Cobb Vanth – which is the pre-cursor to the finale – and you’ve got fanboy ‘giddiness’ aplenty.

This all leads to Boba Fett and Din Djarin combining forces in the final episode, as they – and some unlikely allies – look to fend off the advancing Pyke syndicate.

And with a Rancor monster tossed in for good measure – and the continued presence of kick-ass Wookiee bounty hunter Black Krrsantan – it all ends as awesomely as the final part of Mando’s last series.

Which meant by the end Boba’s book was well worth reading from start to finish.

ESP Rating: 4.5/5
