TOP NAMES ANNOUNCED FOR NEWMARKET CONCERTS

Two great names have been revealed for next year’s open air concerts at Newmarket Racecourse and tickets are already being snapped up fast!

Newmarket Racecourses and The Jockey Club Live have announced that the ‘Troublemaker’ himself, Olly Murs, will be headlining Newmarket Nights on August 18 next year closely followed by the talented Jess Glynne on August 26.

Since Olly shot to fame on X Factor back in 2009, he’s crafted four multi-platinum albums and produced four number 1 singles with total record sales exceeding 10 million. His latest studio album 24 HRS has became his fourth consecutive LP to reach the top spot on the UK charts, becoming the most successful solo artist ever to come from the X Factor.

A formidable performer, he’s sold out arena tours across the UK and cemented himself as one of  Britain’s very best live acts.

Olly said: “I’m really looking forward to playing Newmarket Racecourse next summer, it’ll be one of the first chances I’ll get to play tracks from 24 HRS in the sunshine so will be a special show to share with my fans. I love a day out at the races too so can’t wait to get in the crowd during the day to place a cheeky bet…”

Due to overwhelming demand for her sold out show in 2016, Newmarket Nights and The Jockey Club Live are welcoming back Jess Glynne to the Adnams July Course this summer.

First coming into the public consciousness as the vocalist on Clean Bandit’s Grammy Award winning and #1 hit Rather Be; pop sensation Jess Glynne has since become one of the biggest UK breakthrough acts of recent years.

Her number-one charting debut album, I Cry When I Laugh, has turned double platinum in the UK, making it the highest selling debut album of the past year. Jess is also one of only two British female solo artists to have five consecutive UK number one singles.

2016 was a further massive year for Jess, with a sold-out UK arena tour under her belt plus she was nominated for British Breakthrough Act, British Female Solo Artist and British Single for Hold My Hand at this year’s prestigious Brit Awards and was nominated at the recent BBC  Music Awards.

Jess said: “It’s going to be great fun playing Newmarket Racecourse on 26th August after the races. My show there in the summer was one of my highlights as the fans were so amazing; I can’t wait to come back!”

The 2016 season welcomed acts including Little Mix, Tears For Fears, Mark Ronson and the Kaiser Chiefs to the Adnams July Course, collectively playing to over 100,000 fans.

Amy Starkey, Regional Director East of Jockey Club Racecourses, said – “We are very excited to announce Olly Murs as the next act in our Newmarket Nights and Summer Saturday Live line up for 2017. We last welcomed Olly to Newmarket in June 2010 when he played as part of an X Factor Finalists tour and it will be fantastic to welcome him back again as a standalone headline act. I have no doubt he will put on a fantastic show next August and I very much look forward to seeing him then.

Amy is equally excited about the return of Jess Glynne after her concert went down a storm in the summer – “After a fantastic show this year when performing to a sold out crowd, I have no doubt we will be treated to another brilliant set. Summer Saturday Live really is the perfect way to kick off the August Bank Holiday Weekend, especially when joined by a global superstar such as Jess Glynne.”

Tickets for both gigs are on sale now via www.thejockeyclublive.co.uk
