TIME TO CHEER ON THE PGER RUNNERS!

After all the months of training it’s finally here and now the call goes out to local people to support all those pavement pounding runners braving the Perkins Great Eastern Run and Anna’s Hope Fun Run.

Let’s here it for the runners in chicken suits and super hero outfits and the hardy runners hoping for a personal best… or just to stagger over the finish! Yes, your support helps urge them over that finish line folks.

ESP’s resident action man Darren Grigas has been in training once again and this year also has his kids taking part in the fun run.

Darren knows just how important the support is of crowds along the route to help the runners complete the half marathon and hopes lots of people will turn out to cheer them on.

“I’m not sure I’ll be getting myself a new PB (personal best) myself this year but I’m still looking forward to enjoying the route, soaking up the atmosphere from the fantastic crowds and egging others along to chase their goals.

“Being a Peterborough lad, PGER is a staple in my running calendar and I love being around to take part. It’s especially great to see Anna’s Hope getting so much support through the event now, they’re such a fantastic charity with a big heart and incredible dreams.”

One of the best things about the PGER is that it takes the runners right through the heart of the city and residential areas and starts and finishes at the Embankment, so it’s ideal for crowds to line the route and enjoy the spectacle. If you’re not donning your trainers this year at least sponsor a runner to raise money for a good cause and yell some encouragement as they go by.

ESP will be there to capture the action. Good luck to Darren and all the runners taking part in another great event.
