You can claim £2 off a full price ticket to The History Boys with every ticket purchased for The Lady in the Van.
Peterborough Mask Theatre, who have been producing quality plays for local audiences for over 70 years, will present The Lady in the Van, in the studio from April 17 – 20. Most recently made into a smash-hit film starring Maggie Smith, The Lady in the Van is the true story of Miss Shepherd, and her arrival on Alan Bennett’s driveway in her bright yellow van.
Mask Theatre have seen huge success over the past few years, with highlights including The Importance of Being Earnest last spring at the Key Theatre, and Edith in the Dark, at Christmas in the Undercroft. The Lady in the Van is sure to be another classic production of quality from Peterborough Mask Theatre.
Lamphouse Theatre, local professional theatre company, well known for their popular, music-filled Christmas shows, will produce their first ever community production, The History Boys, on the main stage from May 22 – 25. Set in the 1980s Alan Bennett’s wildly popular dark comedy tells the story of eight students as they finish sixth form and face the adult world.
Lamphouse Theatre’s version of The History Boys will have a gender blind cast, with female performers playing some of the male parts in the play. The show will also be performed purely by a community cast, made up of local young talent, and supported by a professional production team. The History Boys will be packed full of energy, comedy, music and fun.
