Working in association with the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre in Guildford, fresh young theatre company Creative Cow is delighted to be extending Richard Brinsley Sheridan’s classic play, The Rivals, to the Key Theatre from January 28 – 31.  A byword for wit and a great night out, in the hands of the accomplished Creative Cow this revival is all but unmissable.

Set in the 1700s, The Rivals tells the story of a day in the life of a circle of socialites swooping in on the fashionable city of Bath, to take to the waters, find romance and have a jolly good gossip! Confusion, duels, madness and mayhem all ensue in this hilarious period masterpiece. Enter Mrs Malaprop with her illustrious twisted phrases, her niece Lydia Languish who is busy falling in love with the handsome Captain Jack (and not forgetting his pushy, explosive father, Sir Anthony Absolute!)

Creative Cow is using an ensemble company to deliver Sheridan’s sparkling dialogue with utmost clarity and to produce some of the most extraordinary comic characters to ever grace the stage. The company conceived its name, Creative Cow, on a cattle farm in Devon: where productions are managed and rehearsed before touring.
