COME FROM AWAY

We have some real local talent in the city and the Peterborough Operatic and Dramatic Society always put on a fantastic show.

Their latest production is something a little different – Come From Away, running from September 9-12 at The Key Theatre.

It tells the remarkable true story of the 7,000 airline passengers stranded in the small town of Gander, Newfoundland, following the events of 11 September 2001.

Amid a time of global uncertainty and tragedy, the people there opened their homes and hearts to complete strangers, creating an inspiring story of kindness, compassion, and human connection.

Oliver Brook from PODS told ESP – “Our production is particularly poignant as it’s being performed during the 25th anniversary year of 9/11, with performances directly coinciding with this significant milestone. Through its uplifting music and powerful storytelling, Come From Away serves as a moving reminder of the resilience of communities and the extraordinary good that can emerge even in the darkest of times.

“The cast and creative team, of entirely local talent/volunteers, have been working hard to bring this internationally acclaimed musical to Peterborough audiences. We believe its message of unity, hope, and humanity is as relevant today as ever.”
