The Lightbox Cafe & Eclectic Ballroom are set to party on Saturday November 17 with Featurecast as they notch up their first year in the city…

It’s hard to believe a year has passed since this independent daytime cafe turned night time venue first arrived on Bridge Street.

Eve Warner fulfilled a dream opening The Lightbox Cafe and after establishing a reputation for great food by day, she partnered up with the guys from Eclectic Ballroom, Jim and Zed, to offer up some great nights and transform into a nightlife venue after hours.

It’s been an amazing year with the guys bringing the likes of Jimmi Needles, Madame Electrife, Mick Henderson  Bocca 45, Paul Wright, S.A.S and Shaka Loves You, crafting truly memorable nights.

In December they have the legendary A Skill’s appearing and 2019 will be even bigger with January featuring Swedish producer Disco Tech Edits, February it’s Danielle Moore (Crazy P), and March sees Danny Whitehead (Cafe Mambo resident DJ).

But first on Saturday November 17 it’s the joint Lightbox Cafe/Eclectic Ballroom birthday party, with the truly unique talent of the formidable, Featurecast.

UK based Featurecast, has been synonymous with groove and funk for quite a few years now, during which he’s been on a mission to funk his way across the globe with his own style of DJing, bringing mid-tempo Breaks, Hip-Hop, Funk, House, Drum & Bass and down right dirty Bass together in his own remarkable way.

2014 proved to be a very fruitful year for this talented artist, lighting up the main stage of Australia’s biggest Breakbeat festival – Breakfest, adding to an already impressive list of festivals including Glastonbury, Bestival, Beat Herder, V Festival, Fusion Festival, Shindig and Canada’s Shambhala.

Entry to the Lightbox Cafe night is FREE and it’s on from 8pm till late.

It’s 2 for £10 on cocktails and there’ll be other special drinks offers on the night.
