Showcase Cinemas Peterborough is providing a special screening of the feature-length season premiere of Doctor Who: Deep Breath on Saturday night (August 23) at 7.35pm.
In a dramatic pulse-racing adventure through Victorian London, this two-hour opener marks the beginning of the Twelfth Doctor’s era – with Peter Capaldi taking over the reins from Matt Smith.
Helmed by acclaimed director Ben Wheatley (Sightseers and A Field in England), and written by lead writer/executive producer Steven Moffat, Deep Breath will see Jenna Coleman star as the Doctor’s companion Clara Oswald – and see the return of fan favourites the Paternoster Gang (Madame Vastra, Jenny Flint and Strax).
Tickets are available now from the Showcase box-office, and it’s advised that cinema-goers get to the screening by 7.40pm as there’ll be a six-minute cinema-exclusive feature before the main episode begins at 7.50pm.
This is followed by another exclusive after the screening has finished: live streaming via satellite to cinemas across the country – featuring Peter Capaldi, Jenna Coleman and Steven Moffat in a question and answer session.
Jonathan Wheeler, General Manager of the Boongate-based multiplex, told ESP: “When we screened the Anniversary Special we sold over 800 tickets, which shows that Doctor Who is very popular in the Greater Peterborough area.”
Go to www.showcasecinemas.co.uk for further details and ticket information, with the screening available with XLR seating.
