Serpentine Green’s very own SubsXpress has won a gold award at this year’s prestigious industry awards the Sammies.
Sandwich star Peter Puntrello, who owns and manages the successful café in Serpentine Green’s food court, was absolutely delighted to be presented with the gold award for Independent Sandwich Bar of the year at an event at the Lancaster London Hotel.
Peter Puntrello said: “This is such an honour for the whole team at SubsXpress to be recognised by the British Sandwich Association for our work. We are now one of five sandwich bars in the UK to have a gold award.”
The award was judged by a panel of experts from the British Sandwich Association. The judges visited independent sandwich bars across the UK and judged them on the basis of their products as well as factors such as innovation, customer service and ambiance.
Serpentine Green manager Chantelle Watson said: “Our heartfelt congratualtions go to SubsXpress for all their hard work. It is fantastic they have been honored in a national awards scheme.”
Peter Puntrello is no stranger to the Sammies as he has been previously recognised for his creativity in developing new recipes.
