Blessed with great weather this year’s Willow Festival is being hailed another big success.
The ESP Magazine team went down to The Willow Festival to enjoy the Peterborough music and the sunshine and with record numbers attending we clearly were’nt the only ones!
The festival could not have asked for better weather for the exciting weekend exclusive to Peterborough. Thousands of people attended over the weekend which had over 150 bands play over six stages on the Embankment.
Most acts playing were unsigned across multiple genres and we particularly enjoyed some of Peterborough’s favourite acts like Motor City Vipers, Last Echoes and Captain Obvious.
As well as music, there were stalls and fairground rides which really made the weekend into a great family event.
The success also comes down to the many volunteers involved in the festival. Organiser Mark Ringer told ESP – “If it wasn’t for their help, TWF 2013 definitely couldn’t have happened. The work load this time around was staggering, so big thanks to James McCullen, Paul Archer, Jane Vellam, Ashley Harding and David Pleasance.”
It seems other cities are starting to get envious of this unique Peterborough grown event but Mark assures us – “The Willow Festival will always belong to Peterborough via the awesome and overwhelming support local people give it.”
