One of the area’s quirkiest and most fun events returns to the river in Deeping soon and it’s one of our favourites.
The Deepings Raft Race is set to make waves once again on Sunday August 4 with homemade crafts taking to the water and plenty of stalls and entertainment along the route.
This summer highlight always attracts big crowds and it’s a wonderful day out.
This year the theme is kids’ TV shows past and present and there are over 30 rafts taking part. From classic cartoons to modern favourites, the possibilities are endless and we can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with.
There's also a fun fair and over 50 stalls to browse as well as live music and entertainment, food and drink from vendors and local pubs and cafés. Stalls open at 9.30am, the event starts at 11am with a parade of rafts and the first race is at 12 noon starting from The Bell bridge in Deeping St James.
The event is free but they will be collecting for local charities so please donate.
