If you’re ready for some music, entertainment and a cracking atmosphere… it’s time to follow the Bear!
The credit card bill may be in and the weather might be rubbish but the Straw Bear Festival in Whittlesey is guaranteed to bring a smile to your face!
The atmosphere in the town over this weekend is buzzing and the pubs and bars will be packed.
The annual parade through the town centre will see the straw ‘bear’ making his way through the streets accompanied by dancers and musicians.
It’s all happening over January Saturday 16 when the parade kicks off leaving Manor Leisure Centre at 10.30am – check the full route on the website.
Throughout the day there’ll be story teller sessions at the Methodist Reformed church and acoustic sessions in the Town Hall. In the evening it’s the barn dance at Sir Harry Smith Community College with music from Peeping Tom (tickets £12).
It all concludes on Sunday with the bear burning at the college from 12 noon – don’t worry no bears are hurt this weekend!
For tickets and all you need to know head to www.strawbear.org.uk.
