RAWLINSONS ACCOUNTANCY STAFF TURN HUMAN HOUNDS FOR CHARITY

City accountancy firm Rawlinsons is celebrating its 75th anniversary by embarking on 75 charitable acts in 75 days – including ‘going to the dogs!’

Staff from across the business are taking part in a series of events and volunteering in projects to support local charities with either fund-raising or labour.

One of the most recent and successful events was the Human Hounds event at Peterborough Greyhound Stadium – which saw staff dressed as a hare and the dogs complete a circuit of the stadium to raise over £1,500 for Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice Appeal.

And Rawlinson’s 75km team is currently limbering up for its epic walk on July 9 – which will be the equivalent in distance of 750 football pitches.

The charity challenge is a wide and varied programme of activities including a 75-mile static bike marathon and a cathedral abseil.

The five charities to benefit from the fund-raising marathon are NSPCC Peterborough Business Support Group; Shine; Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice; Macmillan Cancer Support and the Peterborough Cathedral 900 Appeal.

Volunteering work includes getting Little Miracles ready for summer with gardening, painting and cleaning; taking over a lunchtime friendship group for Age UK; painting the monkey house at the Exotic Pet Refuge; establishing a bluebell wood at Thorpe Hall and backing SHINE with some marketing survey support.

“We have been a part of city life for 75 years and it seems fitting that in this special year, we should choose to give something back to the local communities we have served,” said Rawlinsons managing partner Colin Crowley.

“This initiative has been supported by all the staff at our Lincoln Road offices and everyone is looking forward to playing their own part in this mammoth undertaking,” he added.

“Over the last 75 years, we have shaped our services to meet the growing needs of the community and offer specialist services alongside traditional accountancy practices.”
