If you live in the Spalding area you can attend a free firework display tonight (October 31) courtesy of sponsors the Queensgate Shopping Centre.
The 2014 Queensgate Shopping Centre & Spalding Firework Extravaganza is being held at the Spalding Rugby Club in St Thomas’s on Friday October 31. Alongside a spectacular firework display the event also includes a fun fair provided by South Lincolnshire regular Roger Tuby& Sons, with a variety of hot food and drinks available on the night.
Sam Eastwood, Centre Director at Queensgate Shopping Centre, said that the event was a benefit to all of those involved.
“Queensgate Shopping Centre supports our local communities throughout the year, and we felt that this firework display was the perfect way to give back to the community by making the event free of charge to attend.”
The event has been created to add another big occasion to the local calendar each year, and organisers hope those who attend will also visit the local town centre.
A spokesperson for the event said that he hoped other Spalding businesses would jump on board to support the event.
“Queensgate have been fantastic with a very generous donation towards the running costs of the event, which has meant that we do not have to charge an admission fee. The whole purpose of this event is to help drive footfall for the town through another large community event, and we will also be seeking to raise lots of money for local organisations on the night.
“The event has really captured the imagination of the town, and we are already seeking to recruit additional marshals for the event as we are expecting such a large attendance!”
Entry’s from 4.30pm with last admission at 7pm. Tulip Radio will be live on air and there’ll be fairground rides, food, drink and lvie sinegrs to keep you entertained.
