PETERBOROUGH DRAGON BOAT SELL OUT SUCCESS

This year’s Peterborough Dragon Boat Festival is set to be a great one with the event selling out and 48 teams set to compete.

The ESP Motley Crew will be taking to the water too, alongside many other local businesses, for a packed day of racing on the water to the beat of a drum.

The event is being held at Peterborough Rowing Lake on Saturday June 10 and we’re hoping everyone will head down to enjoy the spectacle and family entertainment. There'll be a fairground, stalls, food and fun activities so you can really make a day of it.

It will also be your first opportunity to pick up the ESP Summer Special which will be available on the day! Smile for our ESP Paparazzi photographers too and you could be in our next issue.

The Peterborough Dragon Boat Festival is a huge fundraiser for Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice and their team will be there on the day too.

It’s all organised by NewWave Events who always do an amazing job bringing this great event to the city and there’ll be loads of bankside fun for all the family.

It’s an exciting day with races every few minutes with the teams battling it out along the 200-metre course in ornate dragon boats paddling to the beat of a drum - which really gets your heart racing as they near the finish!

ESP’s Mikey Clarke will be on our boat and has his oars at the ready – “This is genuinely one of my favourite local events. I have seen the thrilling competition evolve over the years from nothing more than the boats and crew members to a full-on spectacle with music, fairground rides, refreshments, entertainment for all the family and thousands of spectators. I can’t wait!”

ESP Magazine is once again the media partner for the festival and it’s sponsored by city firm Hotpoint, helping raise vital funds for Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice.

It all takes place on Saturday June 10 at Peterborough Rowing Club at Thorpe Meadows.
