PETERBOROUGH CATHEDRAL STAGES EXTRA OUTDOOR COMEDY PERFORMANCE

An outdoor performance of The Importance of Being Earnest at Peterborough Cathedral has proved so popular they’ve introduced an extra matinee

DOT Productions will be presenting this classic Oscar Wilde comedy in the beautiful outdoor setting of the Cathedral Cloisters on Friday August 21.

The evening show has completely sold out so it’s time to gather your bubble and book in for a little socially distanced light relief at 2pm instead.

Six versatile actors and DOT Productions’ renowned style bring this much loved masterpiece to you in all its satirical glory.

Two bachelors; the seemingly responsible John Worthing JP, and the charming and frivolous Algernon Moncrieff; both lead double lives in order to court Gwendolyn Fairfax and Cecily Cardew. This leads to a riotous comedy of mistaken identities, and encounters with the formidable Lady Bracknell.

Tickets are £12 per person (booking fee applies). Book online at https://www.peterborough-cathedral.org.uk/143/section.aspx/142/earnest.

The audience will be seated in social bubbles / households, as per government guidelines, so please take this into consideration when booking your tickets. If you need to book for more than one bubble please make these as separate bookings.

It’s an outdoor production so take your own low backed chairs and as the show will go ahead outside whatever the weather, be prepared with a waterproof (rather than a large umbrella) or sunhat.

Drinks will be on sale at the interval at a (cash only) bar in the Cloisters, with Orange juice, Coke, Water and Prosecco in bottles or cartons.
