Peterborough art loves are in for a treat as the Peterborough Artists’ Open Studios (PAOS) event returns with more than a hundred artists displaying their works.
Here at ESP we’re always keen to shout about the fabulous talent we have in Peterborough and the fact this event has been going for over 21 years just proves what a wealth of creativity there is in the city.
This year 130 artists will be sharing their work over three weekends – June 26 and 27, July 3 and 4 and again on July 10 and 11.
It’s a great chance to see some amazing art and crafts and to buy original products or commission bespoke pieces directly from the artists.
PAOS was created by Sue Shields and Kathryn Moore 21 years ago and has grown from just 2 members to 130. It’s aim was to help make the arts in the city accessible to all by putting Peterborough on the art map.

For three weekends a year, the artists and craftspeople from Peterborough and surrounding Cambridgeshire area, open their studios, homes or other venue to the public to showcase their work. However, due to the pandemic in 2020, there was a break, during which the artists took the opportunity to reconfigure ways to showcase their diverse works.

This year some members will be doing virtual exhibitions while others will be running an appointment based system. All artists will be welcoming visitors in their own way to their Open Studios.
You’ll be welcome to have a look round, talk to the artists and learn about the techniques and materials involved. Entry to each venue is free. All the artists will have original work for sale and often have cards and prints available but there’s no obligation to buy.

Some venues will offer refreshments, demonstrate techniques or open their gardens so check out the artist pages or the directory for more details.
