Pboro Artists United for Shine, will see an album launch and gig in aid of the Peterborough charity which has its HQ here and supports youngsters with spina bifida and hydrocephalus.
To celebrate its Golden Anniversary, the Peterborough-based charity Shine collaborated with local artists’ management company, www.pboro.co.uk, to create a Christmas card with a difference – a card with a CD!
Along with the specially recorded Christmas album, they’re also staging a fabulous event where everyone can join in to help this amazing cause.
The gala night at Stamford Corn Exchange on Friday November 25 will be a great
showcase of our musical talent. The concert line up will be headed by former Drifters’ member, Maurice Cannon and Lloyd Watson (who’s performed with David Bowie and Roxy Music amongst many others).
The incredible line up of artists featured also includes PennyLess, The Collective, Opaque, Chris Watson and Laurette Evelyn, Thomas Dunleavy, That’s Amore, The Librarians, Holly & The Boatmen, Jess Davis, Zelda Finch, Rachel Hammond and Chanél Hughes.
Music gigs might usually be a jeans and T-shirt affair but for this one it’s time to don your glad rags and dig out the black tie and fancy frocks!
The Christmas Dress Up Gala event will see 13 acts with more than 25 artists involved taking to the stage. Each will perform up to three songs, one Christmas song and up to two others from their personal repertoire. Each artist/band will sing the Christmas song in their own style and there’s a real variety, from soul to jazz, rap to rock ‘n’ roll and pop to folk.
All money raised goes to Shine and to order tickets and pre-order the CD (£20 for gala and Christmas Card CD; £15 gala only; £7 CD only) visit shine.pboro.co.uk or call the box office on 01780 766455.
