With the lighter nights giving us more time to enjoy longer days – now is the perfect time to think about getting on yer bike for the NSPCC.
Organised by the Peterborough Business Support Group to raise vital funds to support abused, neglected and vulnerable children locally, the family charity cycle ride at Rutland Water takes place on Sunday June 5.
Goodie bags and T-shirts will be handed out to all riders, and after pedaling around the 17-mile circuit, cyclists can tuck into a tasty hog roast.
The popular cycle ride is one of the many events organised each year by the Business Support Group.
Made up of local business people, the group raised an amazing £750,000 over the past 20 years to help support the work of the NSPCC locally.
The funds have helped neglected, vulnerable and abused children and young people through the charity’s national helplines, and through help and treatment offered to youngsters at the NSPCC Peterborough Children’s Centre.
NSPCC Peterborough Business Support Group chairman Chris Collier said: “The bike ride is one of the most important and popular events in our fund raising calendar and we hope as many people as possible will join us for a great family day out.”
Entry is £10 adults/ £5 children and £25 for a family. To find our more visit eventbrite.co.uk/e/rutland-water-family-bike-ride-2016-tickets-21058428326
