NEW WILD ABOUT CAMBRIDGESHIRE FESTIVAL

A brand new free festival celebrating nature, wildlife and the great outdoors is heading to Ferry Meadows this September.

Wild About Cambridgeshire is a fantastic free family festival taking place on Sunday September 13.

It will bring together a wide range of local wildlife and environmental organisations, community groups and the team from Nene Park Trust. You can meet the people helping to protect and care for local wildlife, learn about the amazing work happening across the county and discover how you can get involved.

Organisers promise hands-on activities and interactive workshops as well as fascinating live displays and demonstrations. You can also enjoy a great selection of food and drink, making it the perfect day out for the whole family.

Event highlights include an exciting bird of prey flight display from the Raptor Foundation, interactive animal encounters with ZooLab, the Fossils Galore portable museum, nature-inspired poetry workshops with Helen Cross and a relaxing outdoor yoga session.

At the Nene Park Trust stand, families can take part in their Where's Carrot? activity, enter a Name the Bear competition and join Ranger Trish for a guided Foraging Trail, with fantastic Jellycat prizes up for grabs.

Another festival highlight will be Wild Wagons, a community art project celebrating creativity and nature. Local community groups and organisations have transformed simple wagons into imaginative, wildlife-friendly displays, which will be showcased at the festival. Visitors will be invited to vote for their favourite, with prizes awarded to the top three winning designs.

Wild About Cambridgeshire will also feature exclusive screenings of The People's Emergency Briefing, an inspiring documentary exploring the urgent challenges facing nature and our changing climate.

Head to Coney Meadow in Ferry Meadows from 11am to 4pm on Sunday September 13. Entry is free and usual parking charges apply. Follow Nene Park Trust on social media for the latest event updates.

Wild About Cambridgeshire is hosted by Nene Park Trust, in partnership with Wild About Huntingdonshire.
